Blog Beginning - The Northern Cardinal

Regardless of the time of year, cardinals (specifically, the Northern Cardinal) visit the Colvin Run Habitat most often and in the greatest number. Both male and female visit the habitat; in late spring and throughout the summer, they bring their young. As this is Virigina, I thought it only appropriate that the first photo posted be a cardinal (male) perched in a dogwood tree. Of course, the cardinal being the Viriginia state bird and the dogwood being the Virginia state flower/tree. Posted by Picasa
