Feather Fluffing Wrens

I recently posted some thoughts about how small birds stay warm during the winter. One way being they fluff their feathers to trap air that then acts as an insulator.
The first photo shows two Carolina wrens. Notice how the wren on the right is fluffed up so that he looks like a round ball.
The second photo shows an Eastern starling fluffed up almost to being a ball.
