Tufted Titmice

Along with the Carolina chickadees, the tufted titmice come to the feeders in the Colvin Run Habitat every day. They help to consume the one and a half gallons of sunflower seeds consumed by all of the birds each and every day.

  1. Gil,
I am using 2 lbs of seeds a day myself. With almost a year of severe drought here, there is scant food available otherwise. I have house finches, lesser goldfinches, cardinals, black crested titmice, Caroline chickadees, cardinals, and scrub jays every day - all day. I've been putting out suet as well and feed some Bewicks wrens and orange crowned warblers with that. And, if I don't bring in the feeder at night, a gang of raccoons will empty it out!
    Regards,
